Police: Woman hits daughter's fiancé with car

A 45-year-old Evansville woman is accused of intentionally hitting her daughter's fiancé with her car after an argument over stolen money.

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. today as Darnell, her daughter's fiancé, Trey Feldpausch, and Bryan Shell were outside 1107 E. Columbia St., according to an Evansville Police Department probable cause affidavit.

Police say Darnell accused Shell of stealing money from her. Feldpausch reportedly defended Shell and said he hadn't taken anything.

"Darnell became irate and attempted to strike Feldpausch with her vehicle," Evansville Police Department officer Eric Eberhard wrote in the affidavit.

Feldpausch dodged the car once, but police say Darnell backed up and again drove toward him, striking him in his knees. Feldpausch complained of leg pain and said he would take himself to the hospital, according to the affidavit.

Before leaving, authorities say Darnell intentionally rammed Shell's vehicle, which was parked in the driveway.
