Pelosi Says She Rejects Bankruptcy for Automakers

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected bankruptcy as a solution for domestic automakers, saying it would be “digging a hole far too deep.”

Bankruptcy by the automakers would have “a devastating impact on the workers, on the economy, on the manufacturing base and on the confidence of the country,” Pelosi said at a briefing in Washington.

Because GM filing would be devastating to the UAW and in turn cripple their ability to pour money into the DNC. The UAW must be protected at all costs. The UAW has sucked the life out of the Big 3 and now will suckle on the Govt teat until we are bled dry as well.

You are right on the money. Democrats have their "lobbyists" too. Maybe the automakers need a bankruptcy to rid themselves of the poorly structured contracts that will contiue to cripple them in the future.
